Second 0+ state of unbound 12O: Scaling of mirror asymmetry

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 1H(14O, t), E=51 MeV/nucleon, [14O secondary beam from 9Be(16O, X), E=90 MeV/nucleon primary reaction]; measured E(t), I(t), σ(θ), TKE versus θ(lab) using LISE spectrometer and MUST2 telescopes at GANIL. Missing-mass spectroscopy. 12O; deduced levels, J, π, L-transfers, two-proton decay width. Comparison of the second 0+ state of 12O to the mirror state in 12Be and theoretical predictions. Systematics of 0+ states in mirror nuclei pairs of 6Be-6He, 8C-8He, 10C-10Be, 12O-12Be, 14O-14C, 16Ne-16C, 18Ne-18O, 20Mg-20O, 22Mg-22Ne, 24Si-24Ne, 26Si-26Mg, 28S-28Mg, 30S-30Si, 32Ar-32Si, 34Ar-34S, 36Ca-36S, 38Ca-38Ar, 40Ti-40Ar, 42Ti-42Ca, 46Cr-46Ti, 48Ni-48Ca, 50Fe-50Cr, 54Zn-54Cr, 54Ni-54Fe and 58Zn-58Ni. Discussed importance of scaling of mirror asymmetry in the context of ab initio calculations near the drip lines.
