6H states studied in the 2H(8He, 4He) reaction and evidence of an extremely correlated character of the 5H ground state
NUCLEAR REACTIONS 2H(8He, α)6H, E=26 MeV/nucleon, [secondary 8He beam produced in 9Be(11B, X), E=33.4 MeV/nucleon reaction, fragments separated using ACCULINNA-2 separator at FLNR-JINR-Dubna facility]; measured reaction products, Eα, Iα, neutrons, α(3H)-coin, α(3H)n-coin, angular distributions and TOF using ΔE-E-E telescopes of CsI(Tl) scintillators, position-sensitive chambers, and a neutron wall of 48 stilbene-crystal modules; analyzed resonance energy profiles and the momentum distributions of fragments of the sequential 6H to 5H(g.s.)+n to 3H+3n decay by direct four-body-decay and sequential-emission mechanisms; deduced missing mass spectrum, evidence for dineutron correlations in the decay of 5H g.s. 6H; deduced broad resonant states, widths, decay modes of resonances, energy distributions of 3H fragments and neutrons emitted by 6H states, differential cross section, no evidence for a 2.6-2.9 MeV resonance reported earlier; discussed energy of the ground state of 6H with no definite conclusion. Monte Carlo simulations. 2H(10Be, α)8Li, E=42 MeV/nucleon; reaction used for calibration of 6H spectrum.
