Direct measurement of the intrinsic electric dipole moment in pear-shaped thorium-228

RADIOACTIVITY ²³²Th(α), ²²⁸Ac(β^-); measured decay products, Eγ, Iγ, γ-γ coin. ²²⁸Th; deduced γ-ray energies, partial level scheme, level lifetimes, B(Eλ), intrinsic dipole moment, octupole deformation. Comparison with theoretical calculations. A direct electronic fast-timing technique, the mirror symmetric centroid difference method.
