Neutrino recoil force in electron-capture decay of polarized nuclei: Measurement prospects and potential applications
RADIOACTIVITY 7Be, 37Ar, 49V, 51Cr, 54Mn, 55Fe, 57Co, 65Zn, 71Ge, 73As, 103Pd, 107,109Cd, 111In, 119Sb, 125I, 131Cs, 135La, 139Ce, 163,165Er, 179Ta, 179W(EC); calculated recoil force from asymmetrical neutrino emission accompanying electron capture of polarized nuclei for pure Gamow-Teller transitions, and for mixed Fermi and Gamow-Teller transitions. Proposed methods to measure this effect using magnetic resonance force microscopy (MRFM). Relevance to physics of the weak interaction, and search of effects beyond the standard model.
