Neutrino recoil force in electron-capture decay of polarized nuclei: Measurement prospects and potential applications

RADIOACTIVITY ⁷Be, ³⁷Ar, ⁴⁹V, ⁵¹Cr, ⁵⁴Mn, ⁵⁵Fe, ⁵⁷Co, ⁶⁵Zn, ⁷¹Ge, ⁷³As, ¹⁰³Pd, ^107,109Cd, ¹¹¹In, ¹¹⁹Sb, ¹²⁵I, ¹³¹Cs, ¹³⁵La, ¹³⁹Ce, ^163,165Er, ¹⁷⁹Ta, ¹⁷⁹W(EC); calculated recoil force from asymmetrical neutrino emission accompanying electron capture of polarized nuclei for pure Gamow-Teller transitions, and for mixed Fermi and Gamow-Teller transitions. Proposed methods to measure this effect using magnetic resonance force microscopy (MRFM). Relevance to physics of the weak interaction, and search of effects beyond the standard model.
