Three-body decay of linear-chain states in 14C
NUCLEAR STRUCTURE 14C; calculated energies, Γα, Γ(6He), Γ(10Be) and Γ(6He+8Be) for levels in 14C up to 8+, and decays to 0+, 2+, 1- and 2- states in 10Be, and comparison with the observed resonances in α+10Be resonant scattering data, proton density distribution of the linear-chain configurations; deduced π- and σ-bond linear-chain formations in 14C. 8Be; calculated density distribution. 10Be; calculated positive- and negative-parity states and proton density distributions.
