Neutron single-particle strength in silicon isotopes: Constraining the driving forces of shell evolution
NUCLEAR REACTIONS 9Be(36Si, 35Si), E=100 MeV/nucleon; 9Be(38Si, 37Si), E=95 MeV/nucleon; 9Be(40Si, 39Si), E=85 MeV/nucleon, [secondary 36,38,40Si beams from fragmentation of 48Ca]; measured Eγ, Iγ, γγ-coin using GRETINA array at NSCL-MSU facility; deduced momentum distributions and partial cross sections of the residual nuclei following one-neutron knockout reactions. 35,37,39Si; deduced levels, intruder states, J, π, half-life of a level in 39Si. Comparison with shell-model calculations with SDPF-U and SDPF-MU interactions.
