Inverse-kinematics proton scattering on 50Ca: Determining effective charges using complementary probes
NUCLEAR REACTIONS 1H(50Ca, 50Ca'), E=90 MeV/nucleon; 1H(48Ca, 48Ca'), E=98 MeV/nucleon, [secondary beams of 48,50Ca from 9Be(76Ge, X), E=130 MeV/nucleon primary reaction]; measured Eγ, Iγ, (48,50Ca)γ-coin, σ, γ-branching ratios using A1900 fragment separator, S800 magnetic spectrograph, and GRETINA γ-ray tracking array at NSCL-MSU facility. 48,50Ca; deduced levels, J, π, deformation lengths, ratio of neutron-to-proton transition matrix elements Mn/Mp for first 2+ states, proton and neutron effective charges in the fp shell. Systematics of Mn/Mp ratios for 42,44,46,48,50Ca. Optical model analysis.
