Risk of misinterpreting nearly degenerate doublet bands as chiral partners in odd-even ^{103, 105, 107}Ag and odd-odd ¹⁰⁶Ag

NUCLEAR STRUCTURE ^{103,105,106,107}Ag; calculated single particle Routhians as function of rotational frequencies, energies of nearly degenerate negative-parity doublet bands, deformation trajectories, B(E2); comparison with experimental data suggests consistency with planar cranking model interpretation. Existence of chiral structure of such degenerate bands questioned. Configuration-dependent cranked Nilsson-Strutinsky (CNS) calculations.
