Evidence for Octupole Vibration in Superdeformed ¹⁹⁶Pb

NUCLEAR REACTIONS ¹⁷⁰Er(³⁰Si, 4n), E=144 MeV; measured Eγ, Iγ, γγ-coin, γ-ray polarization. ¹⁹⁶Pb deduced high-spin levels, superdeformed bands, octupole vibration. Euroball IV array.
