Spectroscopy of 155Gd following Coulomb Excitation: Signature-independent M1 properties and evidence for octupole correlations
NUCLEAR REACTIONS 155,156Gd(58Ni, 58Ni'), E=180, 220, 230 MeV; measured Iγ(θ, H, T) in thin polarized Fe, (particle)γ-, γγ-coin, DSA following Coulomb excitation. 155Gd levels deduced g-factors, δ, T1/2. Enriched target, thin-foil transient-field IMPAC technique.
NUCLEAR STRUCTURE 155Gd calculated levels, B(E1), B(E2), B(M1), δ, g, signature-dependent g and B(M1). Particle-rotor model, octupole correlations.
