Coulomb Excitation of ¹⁸⁰Ta

NUCLEAR REACTIONS ^180mTa(α, α'), E=12-20 MeV; ^180mTa(p, p'), E=3-3.7 MeV; measured ground-state decay activity, (X-ray)γ-coin following Coulomb excitation. ¹⁸⁰Ta deduced intermediate state at Ex=0.6-2.2 MeV. ¹⁸¹Ta(α, n), E=12-20 MeV; measured delayed γ yields vs irradiation time. ¹⁸⁴Re deduced possible isomeric state. Thermal coupling of ground, isomeric states, astrophysical implications discussed.
