Evidence for a Highly Deformed Band in ¹⁶O + ¹⁶O Breakup of ³²S

NUCLEAR REACTIONS ¹²C(²⁴Mg, 2¹⁶O), E=170 MeV; measured (¹⁶O)(¹⁶O)(θ). ³²S deduced levels, possible J, π, rotational parameter, band structure. Compared to DWBA.
