RADIOACTIVITY ¹⁷²Lu(EC) [from Ta(p, X)¹⁷²Hf(EC-decay)]; measured Eγ, Iγ, γ(θ), oriented nuclei. ¹⁷²Yb levels deduced J, π, γ-branching, δ, X(E0/E2), monopole transition density. Mass separated source implantation in Gd, Fe, ³He-⁴He dilution refrigerator, Ge(Li) detectors. Interacting boson model.
