NUCLEAR REACTIONS ²⁰⁸Pb, ¹¹⁶Sn, ⁵⁸Ni(α, α'), E=340, 480 MeV; measured σ(θ). ²⁰⁸Pb, ¹¹⁶Sn, ⁵⁸Ni deduced giant resonance excitation strength, collective states. Macroscopic DWBA, multipole analyses.
