NUCLEAR REACTIONS ¹⁹⁶Pt(³²S, ³²S'), E=80, 120 MeV; ¹⁹⁶Pt(⁵⁸Ni, ⁵⁸Ni'), E=150, 220 MeV; measured γ(θ, H) in polarized Fe, Coulomb excitation; deduced transient field, velocity dependence for Pt ions in Fe.
