Determination of Maximum Safe Bombarding Energies and B(E3) Values in Reorientation Experiments with ²⁰⁴Pb, ²⁰⁶Pb and ²⁰⁸Pb

NUCLEAR REACTIONS ^204,206Pb(α, α), (α, α'), E=13.8 MeV; ^204,206Pb(¹²C, ¹²C), (¹²C, ¹²C'), E=52 MeV; ^204,206,208Pb(¹⁶O, ¹⁶O), (¹⁶O, ¹⁶O'), E=60 MeV; measured σ(elastic), σ(inelastic); deduced optimum E-projectile for onset of Coulomb, nuclear interference. ^204,206Pb deduced B(E3).
