Abstract
The main aim of this work was to study the elastic 16O + 12C scattering reaction over a wide range of energies and to analyze the effect of the elastic and inelastic α cluster transfer channels on the cross section for elastic scattering into the rear hemisphere. It is shown that allowing for the coupling of the entrance channels improves the theoretical description of the cross section in the region of wide angles.
