Abstract

High-spin excited states in the neutron-rich nucleus Cs140 were re-investigated from the spontaneous fission of Cf252 with the Gammasphere detector array. Seven new transitions at low and moderate spin and 13 at high spin were observed in Cs140 and the level scheme of Cs140 was extended to 3794 keV with a new sideband. Spins and parities were assigned to levels based on angular correlation measurements and the systematics in the N=85 isotones.
