Elastic scattering of B8 from C12 with internal three-cluster structure of B8

Abstract

We study theoretically the elastic scattering of B8 from C12 at Elab=95 MeV. The B8 nucleus consists of weakly bound Be7 and proton, while the Be7 nucleus has an internal cluster structure of α+3He. We treat the last proton in B8 in the adiabatic recoil approximation and also take into account the excitation of Be7 including resonance states by a coupled-channel method with consideration of the cluster structure. It turns out that the excitation to the resonance state of Be7 in B8 is important for the B8 elastic scattering.
