Measurement of the 12C(α,γ)16O Reaction Cross Section Using Pulsed α Beams

We have determined the $σ_{E 2} / σ_{E 1}$ ratio of the ¹²C(α,γ)¹⁶O reaction at $E_{c m} = 1.39 MeV$ and at $E_{c m} = 1.58 MeV$ by measuring the angular distribution of the γ-ray feeding from the α-capturing state of ¹²C to the ground state of ¹⁶O.
