Abstract
Several recent studies have dealt with the effects of short-range correlations on the momentum distribution of nucleons in nuclei. Here we investigate the correlation effects on the density and spectral distribution in coordinate space. A combination of experimental data and spectral functions calculated from realistic nucleon-nucleon interactions allows us to resolve a recently uncovered discrepancy with occupation of quasiparticle states derived from data.
