Abstract

The structure of the new nuclides discovered recently in the 241Am(22Ne,4n) reaction, 259Db, and its α-decay chain are systematically studied in the relativistic mean field (RMF) approach with NL3 and TM1 effective interactions. Both the pairing correlation and deformation are essential to reproduce the experiment Qα values. Large deformations have been predicted for all nuclei in the α-decay chain, i.e., β0.280.30. The single-particle levels for both protons and neutrons from the deformed RMF theory are discussed in detail.
