Abstract
An angular correlation analysis of the breakup fragments from the and reactions is presented. For the breakup of spins of and are assigned to states at excitation energies of 28.0, 33.4, and 34.5 MeV, respectively. The results are compared to the resonances observed in scattering studies and to the predictions of nuclear models. For the breakup of previous spin assignments are verified and new assignments of and are proposed for states at 20.5, 23.8, 25.1, and 26.4 MeV, respectively.
