Abstract

Excited states of the odd-odd 62Cu isotope were populated and studied via the 16O (65MeV)+52Cr reaction using a gamma detector array equipped with a charged-particle detector array for reaction channel separation. On the basis of γγ coincidence relations and angular distribution ratios, an extended level scheme was constructed up to Ex=10.88 MeV and Jπ=(14+)ħ, and (14)ħ, and this result was interpreted in terms of shell model calculations with a restricted basis of the f5/2, p3/2, p1/2, and g9/2 orbitals outside a 2856Ni core.
