Abstract

Contribution of higher order effects to the one-photon exchange approximation were studied in the first excited state of 12C by comparing inclusive inelastic scattering cross sections of electrons and positrons obtained at the Saclay Linear Accelerator. The data were compared to a distorted wave Born approximation (DWBA) calculation. The results indicate an effect less than 2% within 2σ, compatible with what was observed in recent elastic scattering measurements.
