Abstract

A new set-up for reactions with real photons at the Darmstadt electron accelerator S-DALINAC allows to extend high precision studies to the energy range 6–10 MeV. We describe how real photons are used to study the structure of electric dipole excitations in resonant scattering experiments and to investigate questions about the nucleosynthesis in hot stellar scenaria in photoactivation measurements.
