Magnetic Moments in the 1/2^-[521] Ground-State Band of ¹⁷¹Yb and Coriolis-Induced Renormalization of Rotational g-Factor in Odd-A Rare-Earth Nuclei

NUCLEAR REACTIONS ^171,172Yb(⁵⁸Ni, ⁵⁸Ni'), E=170, 220 MeV; measured Eγ, Iγ(θ, H, T) in thin polarized Gd, γγ-, (particle)γ-coin following Coulomb excitation. ¹⁷¹Yb levels deduced g-factors, δ, total branching ratios. Thin-foil transient-field IMPAC technique. Particle-rotor model calculations.
