Abstract
The role of the three-body wave function in the scattering of pions from polarized is studied. It is found that for the case of the asymmetry from scattering, the inclusion of the D state can be very important, changing the asymmetry calculated by as much as a factor 2–3. The scattering asymmetry is altered very little.
