Higher-order multipolarities in the 16O(p,γ)17F and 7Be(p,γ)8B reactions

Abstract

The E2 and M1 components of the 16O(p,γ)17F and 7Be(p,γ)8B cross sections, which are involved in the analysis of Coulomb breakup data, are studied in a microscopic model. These investigations provide examples of unusual S factor low-energy dependences.
