Abstract

Spin-isospin excitations in 12B and 12N have been studied using the 12C(d,2He)12B and 12C(3He,t)12N charge-exchange reactions at θ = 0° and at Ed=200 MeV and E(3He)=450 MeV, respectively. Neutron decay from 12B to 11B and proton decay from 12N to 11C have been measured with detector arrays consisting of liquid-scintillation counters and silicon detectors, respectively. Microscopic structures of the spin-dipole resonances in 12B and 12N are discussed on the basis of the experimental observations of particle decays and their angular correlations.
