Abstract

We analyze recent experimental data on energy spectra and electromagnetic transition intensities of neutron-rich even Ru isotopes within the framework of the interacting boson model, taking into account both neutron and proton degrees of freedom. Signatures supporting an effective γ deformation different from zero in the mass region around A=110 are pointed out.
