Elastic and inelastic scattering cross sections of the system ${}^{12}\mathrm{C}{+}^{12}\mathrm{C}$ at several bombarding energies are calculated within a parameterfree model using the recently developed nonlocal energy-independent bare potential. Comparison with the data indicates that such a calculation gives accurately the average values of the cross sections. The system ${}^{12}\mathrm{C}{+}^{11}\mathrm{Li}$ is also discussed.
