Abstract
Results are presented for the He reaction in the region 380 MeV, investigated with the use of a 10% duty factor tagged photon beam, in conjunction with the TAGX multiparticle spectrometer. The study of such multipion photoproduction reactions has motivated a number of chiral symmetric models, and is expected to provide an insight on the role of the and resonances in the nuclear medium. From comparisons of the data with simple reaction simulations, it was found that the data were best fit with a combination of multibody phase space channels, quasifree and , and production channels. The results are compared with other double pion photoproduction reactions on hydrogen and deuterium.
