Abstract
Excited states in the doubly-Au nucleus have been studied by in-beam γ-ray spectroscopy. This nucleus was produced through the fusion-evaporation reactions Mg, 5n), F, 5n), and Al, 4n). Different rotational band structures have been observed and interpreted as specific couplings of proton and neutron single-particle excitations present in neighboring odd Au and Pt nuclei. © 1996 The American Physical Society.
