Abstract

The γ vibrational states in odd-mass deformed nuclei are studied within the multiphonon method. Special attention is paid to low-energy multiphonon states in order to see if the anharmonicities observed in even-even nuclei, in which the first vibrational state Kπ=2+ appears well below the energy gap, are also found in the odd-A neighboring nuclei. © 1996 The American Physical Society.
