Abstract

The lifetime τ of the 02+ state in Kr78 has been measured by means of the Doppler shift attenuation method in gases. From the value of τ and the measured value of the K-internal conversion branching IK(02+01+)/IK(02+21+) the value of the electric monopole strength ρ2(E0) of the 02+01+ transition has been deduced. Restriction or assignments for the spin parity of several levels in Kr78, populated in the decay of Rb78, have been deduced by measuring K-internal conversion coefficients of the relevant transitions.
