Abstract
Four new superdeformed bands have been observed in , the first time superdeformation has been observed in an odd-A Pb nucleus. Two of the bands have a dynamic moment of inertia that is nearly constant as a function of ħω. This is the first time that bands with such behavior have been observed in an odd-A nucleus in the A≊190 region and it is interpreted as the result of the blocking of the alignment of neutron pairs.
