Abstract

The Comment addresses a long standing problem concerning folding model calculations for the elastic scattering of Li6 ions. We agree that the low-energy form of M3Y potential for the knockon exchange recommended by the authors of the Comment does require a normalization of ∼0.7 for the real folded potential. However, the prescription used in our paper, which better reflects the phenomenology of higher-energy nucleon scattering, gives results that are consistent with a normalization of unity.
