Abstract
The density distribution of was obtained by assuming it to consist of a core in a harmonic oscillator potential plus two neutrons. The density distributions of the two neutrons were expanded in Fourier-Bessel terms. The coefficients of the Fourier-Bessel expansions were obtained by calculating reaction cross sections in a Glauber-type model and comparing with experimental values. The halo structure of the nucleus is clearly manifested in the calculations. The density obtained was then used to calculate the real part of the proton-nucleus optical potential in the folding model. Good fits to the pLi and pLi elastic scattering data were obtained.
