Abstract

We present a general expression for the polarized spectral function for transitions leaving the residual nucleus in discrete states in A(e, eN)B reactions, which is valid for both spherical and deformed nuclei. We apply the formalism to the polarized deformed nucleus 21Ne and discuss results for the polarized spectral function as well as for differential cross sections and polarization ratios.
