Abstract

We have measured the branching ratios H2(d,p)3H/2H(d,n)3He, Li6(d,p)7Li/6Li(d)4He, and B10(d,p)11B/10B(d)8Be between c.m. energies of 3 and 15 keV, 20 and 135 keV, and 58 and 142 keV, respectively. Our measurements of the d2 reaction are in good agreement with R-matrix calculations of the branching ratio. We find no enhancement of the (d,p) branches of these reactions at the lowest observed energies. Implications of our findings to recent claims of anomalous production of heat from deuterium-metal systems are presented.
