Abstract

Pion double charge exchange on Na138 (T=13), at a bombarding energy of 292 MeV, and a scattering angle of 5°, has been used to populate the double isobaric analog state in Ce138. The measurements provide determinations of Q value, width, and center-of-mass cross section. Results are compared with systematics and with the isobaric-multiplet-mass equation.
