Abstract

Using an inversion procedure for the SO(3,1) algebraic potential the best shape for reproducing the Sl matrix elements of a Woods-Saxon potential is determined. The algebraic optical potential thus found is applied to the elastic scattering of 12C+24Mg at ELAB=24.8, 27.7, 31.2, 34.8, 37.8 and 40.0 MeV.
