Abstract

Cross sections for the reaction O16(p,2p)15N to the ground state and excited state at 6.32 MeV have been measured at an incident energy of 151 MeV. The data are in good agreement with distorted-wave impulse-approximation calculations. The factorization approximation is found to be valid for the region of phase space studied. The extracted spectroscopic factors are reasonably consistent with those determined in other experiments, and they are also compatible with results of a weak-coupling nuclear structure model.
