Abstract

The structure and properties of the superdeformed giant dipole resonances (SDGDR) in rotating Dy146152, Nd132136, and Sr8084 even nuclei are studied based on the linear-response theory with self-consistently determined superdeformed mean field. The effect of γ deformation as well as the triaxial superdeformation on the SDGDR is also investigated. The obtained common features may serve as the criterion for the observation of the SDGDR. The features are understood at a microscopic level by analyzing the distributions of the unperturbed p-h pairs connected with E1 operators.
