Abstract

Differential cross sections for the elastic scattering of 30 and 50 MeV π by nuclei ranging from C12 to Pb208 have been measured using a range spectrometer. Comparison is made with the predictions of a recent optical-model calculation and the general nature of discrepancies is discussed.
