Abstract

The particular stability of light nuclei with N=2Z near the neutron drip line is evidenced from binding energy analyses and discussed in view of triton correlations. Properties of nuclei with one or two extra neutrons are discussed on the same ground.

In the present paper and in Refs. [5,7,11] as well, main attention is paid to the neutron–neutron correlations in light nuclei, and, in particular, in 10Be. Some general types of short-range correlations in light nuclei near the neutron drip line are discussed in Ref. [12]. By analyzing tendencies in neutron separation energies as a function of the number of protons and neutrons in a nucleus, the authors of the paper [12] came to the conclusion that in this region of nuclei it is expedient to consider a three-cluster structure of nuclei with a core and two valence neutrons.
