Abstract

The photoproduction process 13C(γ, π)13N is reinvestigated in a nonlocal DWIA framework which includes selected configurations beyond the 1p-shell. We find a strong sensitivity of the E0 contribution of the pion production cross section to contributions from higher shells. A small amount of (2p, 1p−1) and (1p, 2p−1) admixtures leads to a significant suppression of the E0 part and can provide agreement with experimental data.
