Abstract

In this work we explore the theoretical aspects of a new phenomenon of isotensor (ΔT = 2) double giant resonances. We describe the various properties of these resonances such as energies, widths and intensities. We discuss the excitation of such ΔT = 2, (ΔTZ = ±2) resonances in double charge-exchange reactions and in particular in (π+, π).
