Abstract

Hooshyar and Razavy's inverse scattering method at a fixed energy has been modified to treat Coulomb and non-monotonic potentials. The method is then applied to determine the nature of the α-12C potential at low energies from the available phase shifts. The potential is found to be a shallow one which might also have a short range repulsion.
